Domestic Abuse and Personal Safety Support

If you or someone you know is affected by domestic abuse, help is available.

New Era is the commissioned domestic abuse support service for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. They provide free and confidential support for victims, people who may be causing harm, and children and young people. 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, specialised help is available for all victims. The service also provides a 24-hour online webchat facility. New Era aims to end relationship abuse through a wide range of individual and group support for adults, children and young people for as long as they need it.

This is provided by Victim Support based here in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. Specially trained New Era staff are able to help whether or not a report has been made to the police. Victim services are provided by Victim Support and are available for everyone, with safety and recovery prioritised.

Hollie Guard is a personal safety app that turns your smartphone into an enhanced safety device. It can be used by anyone who wants extra protection and is suitable for people of all ages and genders. The app was developed in memory of Hollie Gazzard and aims to help people feel safer and get help quickly if they are at risk.

Anyone that’s displaying unhealthy or abusive behaviour within their relationship and wants to change this can access help from New Era. New Era Perpetrator services can also help children under 16 years of age who need help with relationship based behaviour or are in need of one to one guidance around healthy relationships.

Perpetrator services are offered by the Staffordshire & West Midlands Community Rehabilitation Company; the Reducing Re-Offending Partnership (RRP) working here across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
