The Families Health and Wellbeing 0–19 Service provides Health Visiting and School Nursing support for children, young people, and families across Staffordshire.

This free service offers advice, support, and routine health reviews from pregnancy through to age 19, helping to improve health, wellbeing, and school readiness.

What the Service Offers

All families in Staffordshire are offered:

  • An antenatal contact from the Health Visiting team

  • A new birth home visit

  • Child development reviews at:

    • 6 weeks

    • 9–12 months

    • 2 to 2½ years

  • Information about your child’s health when they start school

  • Height and weight checks in Reception and Year 6 as part of the National Child Measurement Programme

Extra Support for Families

Families who need additional support will have a named Health Visitor or School Nurse from the Strengthening Families team.

You can also access support at any time by:

  • Calling the Hub

  • Texting the Chat Health service

  • Attending drop-in clinics

The service also shares advice and updates via their Facebook page.

This service works in partnership with families, schools, communities, and health professionals, using both face-to-face and digital support to meet the needs of modern families.
